Fall Wedding Inspiration for the Houghton Bride

There are many factors that influence the decisions we make during wedding planning, but none quite as important as the season! Unless you're saying "I do" in a tropical paradise (which is awesome by the way) then you've got to take the season into consideration when choosing your wedding dress, ceremony venue, and even your wedding colors. As summer comes to an end and the air becomes crisp, here is some Houghton inspiration for your fall wedding.

THE VENUE

Screen Shot 2017-09-20 at 4.44.14 PMA winery is a beautiful place to host a fall wedding. Take it from Houghton Bride Court Owens who got married in our CHEYNE GOWN at the beautiful DeLille Cellars in Washington. Not only is it a beautiful backdrop for a romantic scene and stunning photos, but it is also a form of entertainment as guests can explore and discover the history of the winery on their own.

If you don't have dreams of being a city bride, other naturally scenic venues such as a barn or an orchard can also be wonderful locations for a fall wedding. With the leaves turning and the harvest ready, the beautiful scenery will enhance your fall wedding aesthetics effortlessly.

THE DECOR

There are plenty of ways to incorporate the fall season into your wedding even if pumpkins and pinecones aren't your style. Bringing a little bit of nature to your centerpiece with autumn foliage or rustic touches is tasteful without being too trendy. Take this lush garland centerpiece as inspiration, the long greenery was the length of the table for tasteful decor that made a statement without the annoyance of blocking guests' views. Add your favorite fall tones to the mix and your guests will feel cozy and right at home.

Simple mason jars of various sizes also make for inexpensive DIY fall wedding decor. This wooden stump backdrop is rustic and so romantic for enchanted forest vibes.

Choosing a signature cocktail can be a difficult task, so let the season inspire you! Everybody loves the rich flavors that we associate with fall, and this is the perfect opportunity to add in details that your guests will surely remember and appreciate.

Is it really fall if there's no pumpkin spice in your life? Your guests won't forget a Pumpkin White Russian. You'll just need pumpkin spice Kahlua, vodka and heavy cream to make this delicious desert beverage. For a brunch wedding, replace the tradition orange juice mimosa with an Apple Cider Mimosa! Rim the glasses with cinnamon sugar to really capitalize on the the fall flavor.

THE FLOWERS

The beautiful thing about autumn weddings is that mother nature does the work for you! It's actually a wonderful season for flowers, and beautiful shades of peach, lavender, brown and wine tones are all around us. Opt for in-season flowers and adornments like dahlias, clematis, crab apple branches, foxgloves, Japanese anemones, pomegranates and snowberries for an authentic display.

THE WEDDING DRESS

Of course, our fall wedding round up would not be complete without the perfect dress. Our long sleeves wedding gowns are romantic and just the right amount of fabric for an outdoor ceremony in early fall.
